Roland G70 and E-A7 tips and tricks.
Some ideas I came up with while playing these two great keyboards.
Here are some tricks using sequences and the G70. Featuring organ.
Select a nice style with an organ part.
Playing with the style, do a midi capture.
Open the sequencer with the midi capture tune already loaded.
Select the organ track, and copy it to several open tracks.
Now edit the organ tracks with the octave, and transpose, to match
drawbar settings (16' 8' 4' 5 1/3' ect).
Now save the song as SMF.
Route the organ parts of the song to separate outs. Connect the separate outs back into
the Audio inputs.
Now select the multi fx assigned to the Audio input, #9 Rotary.
Adjust the [parameters to your preference).
When you select the song mixer, you can now use the organ parts (sliders) as
drawbars. Adjusting in real time while playing back sequence.
Since we can't send the great G70 drawbar organ to separate outs. This
gives us an alternative. Allowing us to fine tune the Leslie
(Not possible in the G70 organ mode or song mode).
Another trick on the G70 realtime parts..You can assign the six parts with identical
organ tones, and adjust the octave/transpose to match the desired footages (16' 5 1/3' 8' etc).
Route out to separate outs and back into audio inputs, assign rotary #9 multi fx.
Now you can adjust draw bars with the six reatime part sliders. While playing.
You can also detune parts for a natural chorus, pan
will give width to the chorus.
Don't forget to save as user program..
You can do the same on the E-A7 but using 4 parts.. Assign same organ to each part
and adjust octave/transpose, to match the footage you want.. No separate outs but the
MXF works fine . Save as a performance for easy recall.
