I need advice. Since I got the EA-7 for winery-type things, I'm putting my SX900 back in the studio on top of the SV-1 (love this combo). Here's my issue:
The tiers (arms?) that hold the upper KB have very short elbow brackets, and they barely stop the SX from sliding off. Who's got a hardware fix for this situation?

Something I can slip over the front bracket to extend it's reach another 1/2-1"?

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot get some PVC elbows and put them over the tier poles....
take off the old ones..
If nessasary add 1 inch pieces as needed for height they screw right on...

I want something flat

I can think of at least one hundred ways to fix that. It all depends on what tools you have available. Everything from a tongue depressor to a metal straight or angle bracket. Don't forget a can of cheap black spray paint. If you have NO tools, get the metal bracket about the same width as the existing end tab, and a cheap hacksaw.

3" corner braces from Home Depot. (4 for $5) Attach by drilling holes and using self tapping screws.

The other thing you could use is 1" PVC pipe ( or smaller) heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer and squash it flat onto the bars.
It will then slip over the ends of the top bars to extend them by whatever length you want - say 1" to 2" and cut to length.
Spray them black and use self tapers to fasten them on.

Dave that metal will scratch the bejabbers out of your keyboard and maybe your hands too if you slip or get careless mounting it on the upper tier. I would be certain to file the corners and any sharp edges. You could also cover the metal in some kind of foam or rubber tubing. IMO it'll look better that way too. My $.02
