I have loaded the Song Manager and Audio Recorder software provided with the PR604 into my computer and established a USB link.
I have then succesfully downloaded a song from the PR604 sequencer into the Song Manager, both in Technics format and SMF format.

When I have tried to find either of these files using the Audio Recorder (using the File/Open route) in order to play them, they do not appear in the list of files ,even though I can see them in when I look in " My Documents" on my computer.

I then tried another route. In "My Documents" on my computer I clicked on the icon relating to the song in SMF format and it immediately opened Windows Media Player and started to play it. Unfortunately there was no sound!!

My objective is to record my music on CD. Can anybody help.

I use Windows XP.

Audio recorder plays digital audio, ie wave, mp3 etc files, not Technics or Midi files. Midi files will play in Windows Media player if you have no other midi player installed. Technics files can only be partly played on the pc with specialist software.

To record your music on cd connect the line out of the piano to the line in on your pc soundcard with a suitable stereo jack lead or use the usb if the drivers are installed. Max the balance in the display as much as possible and record the performance in Audio Recorder (or any other wave editor) and save as wave. This file is then ready to make an audio cd track if dragged to any audio cd burning application.

When you say "Max the balance on the display",do you mean on the piano or on the recorder.

In order to record the performance do I simply load a prerecorded floppy into the sequencer and press play on the piano.

you can't adjust the volume of the usb but can adjust the volume through the piano mixer, thus balance as high as possible rather than all sliders at mid point. Although it is easy to normalise the wave file afterwards with a suitable software it is not always necessary if recorded correctly in the first place.
