I rebelled; I played the song the way I felt it. Yes, they would rather have heard the song played like the original, but we put enough into the songs to make the parties/jobs successful. We had more job offers than we could handle.

John, that was the secret to our band's success for 26 years ... We played the top songs in "our" style, which is why people hired us ... We could do that in the 60s and 70s but in the 80s things started to change- it had to sound like the record ...
