So I finally have some time to do something that we've wanted to for some time now. I would like to do some gigs without my arranger keyboard. I'd probably play on the house piano, sing or play harmonica.

Anyways, I'd like to make my own tracks, which I know how to do on my Yamaha 950. I just don't how to transfer the tracks to MP3 format so I can play them back on my iphone.

Seems like it should pretty easy, right? Can anyone break it down into simple steps for this non tech guy? Thanks!

Get Audacity. It's free. Drag the file to it, go to Effects and Normalize it. Then go to File, Export, and export as MP3. I would use 320 level of encoding.

Audacity is tremendous for a free product. I use that if I need to do any track trimming, compressing, normalising, tweaking fade in and out, eq, ......

Nevertheless I use WinFF for quick and dirty wave to mp3 conversion. I think it uses the same encoder underneath. You can actually tweak settings in WinFF but it's not as friendly as Audacity.
