Other than that we are having our groceries delivered by Winn Dixie or Publix. With Walmart we are using their pickup service.

The only other time I'm going out is to get prescriptions or drive through food.

I will cancel all medical lab work and any other unnecessary activities.

Unfortunately, at the moment it looks like I will need to finish some kidney surgery started on March 5, which is now scheduled for April 9. With the condition I have the Dr said the most it could be postponed is 2 1/2 to 3 months. Also, he stated that if we wait there could be an explosion of the virus. So I agree with him and will be monitoring the situation before going forward on this.

Uncle Dave

I have no clue why your mother thinks it's safe to go out shopping like that at this time. The governor has just ordered to stay home for 14 days for those over 65. Obviously allowing one to get groceries and Rx's and staying away from anything not recommended now.

Smart move with the surgery, Scott. All elective surgical procedures has been postponed for the next 60 days here.

Hi Dave,
Hate to think what my mum is up too, prefer not to know, because , quite frankly she wouldn’t listen anyway, if I told her she shouldn’t be doing something. Hopefully her friends in the village have got more sense and don’t take her out. From 500 miles away, one doesn’t have much influence.

Finally a little good news for you, Scott. Glad to hear it....and yes, I would do it under the conditions you mentioned.

My mom won't listen. She's a hard headed force of nature. My sister is with here .... maybe she can talk sense into her after some time. I can only hope.
Why is a shop like that even open?

Hi Scott,
I suppose if there’s no rules being broken, and no chance of someone spreading the virus, why wouldn’t one do it.

There are 21.3 million (2018) people in Florida. There are 20 deaths the from Corona Virus. For argument sake let’s say it is 2,000 deaths, one hundred times as much. My chances of getting killed, are far higher from a snake bite, or a gun, or driving on I95 parkway.

This IS NOT to make little of the virus, we should be concerned and take precautions. But fear can only bring more fear, then you really have a problem.

Scott, use wisdom, check for snakes, and people who are carrying a rod. And above all, stay away from the parkway, and you’ll be just fine.
