Except for badging, some of these models look identical. It has been mentioned in other threads (AKX10 vs Yamaha SX900) that Medeli builds for others including Kurzweil. Do the Medeli versions have same sound engines, including Kurzweil pianos, in them? Or does it stop at sounds/styles? Examples..

($499) Kurzweil KP150= Medeli A300 ($199)
($535) Kurzweil KP200= Medeli A810 ($259)
($699) Kurzweil KP300X= Medeli AW830 ($379)-also w touch screen
as A1000 ($698)

Even for entry level boards, is the name (recognition) worth double the price? An old question I know..what about applied to new boards as AKX10 vs SX900?

Kurzweil does not build arrangers..

It rebrands medellinarrangers with the kurzweil name...

So Medeli is a generic manufacturer who markets under its own name as well as others via license or other agreement. Is it possible that they manufactured the SX700/900 for Yamaha rather than copied it? Maybe under agreement that they perhaps use an older sound chip, and/or hold off marketing under their own name until Yamaha reaped the introductory sales at double the price ($800-$1000 vs $2000)? I don't know how it works but I am curious..

No, Yamaha has its own production lines...

But the brand Medelli is working hard, to make a name as high quallity low cost company...

They also have a top end brand now..
That is ASM..
The hydrasynth of that brand is generally seen as the best and most refreshing synth product of the last year... They hired some top people of the synth industry to develop that synthesizer..

We might see a Medelli super high end keyboard for an affordable price in a few years...

My biggest problem with Medelli is that its a Chineese company..
I am hugely concerned about the whole situation in China..
They own most of the worlds resources by now..
They treat their own people as labourslaves..
They corrupt freedom..
No, they can’t help Corona..
But i will not support a country financially that stands against everything i stand for..

So basically i stopped buying products that are owned or build in China since over a year... and yes, that includes apple products build in China... i been in Asia a few times... and the Behemot China scares the whole continent Asia.. just look at Hong Kong.. i was in Vietnamm, and people there litterally scared that they could be next, China allready claimed Vietnamese Islands in the South Chineese See as Chineese aterritorrity

Its good to see more and more Western companies moving their production away from China to other Asian free countries.. but i am affraid we are to late... wejust can’ t afford China becomming politically and economically even more important then they allready are..

So while Medelli, might build some cheap great instruments soon, there is not a single hair on my head even considering to buy one...

Yes Chineese politics are very dirty, but yet again, that has absolutely no connection to Corona... Corona is a reaction from mother nature reacting to our worlds over population..

Political considerations aside, what I've noticed is that Medeli models don't include Yamaha's flagship chord recognition mode: the "AI Fingered" mode.

Although I much prefer the chord fingering on Roland and Korg, if you're stuck with Yamaha, AI Fingered is definitely the most flexible mode they have, and frankly the only one I would play. Perhaps Yamaha refused to license it to Medeli along with the rest of their operating system?

No matter the reason, the result is that Medeli is left with a limited and ineferior selection of chord fingering modes, which is a key facet of an arranger. Other than price, there's no reason to consider their arrangers over Yamaha, or any other brand.

One last thought... If Roland really is getting out of the arranger business as some have speculated, Medeli should try to license Roland's excellent Chord Intelligence system. It deserves to live on, and then Medeli might have a legitimate contender. My $.02.

Can anyone tell me where Yamaha SX900 and Genos are manufactured? Current owners perhaps? I can't locate specific info online.

Not to mention how they treat animals. Look at the horror markets there. That’s where the Corona virus started. At the moment I also boycot Chinese stuff.

I agree in principle but as a practical matter, it's nearly impossible to be a normal consumer and avoid everything that has direct or indirect (parts, raw materials, etc.) ties to China. We gave up that option when we made the decision to go for 'cheap' over quality AND turn a blind eye to 'sweat shops' and child labor abuses. Sorry folks, you can't have it both ways; it's either Walmart (a double predator) and cheap prices or 'do the right thing' and pay a little more. Unfortunately, the extreme income disparity in this country makes Walmart the 'reluctant?' choice for a large segment of the population. Changing this situation will be a major political and economic challenge.

I have been trying to get my hands on a Medeli AKX10 auto arranger. No distributor here in the USA is selling them. I have tried contacting Medeli directly with no response. Is the AKX10 available anywhere in the world? It sure looks like a Yamaha SX700 and SX900
