Why I don't need a new keyboard controller.

Since I own the keyboard I like for sound and sequencing (G70),
working with MixCraft (DAW).. is a breeze.

I don't have to set up any controllers.. Only need to connect
the Roland Quad Capture interface.. I connect the outputs from the
G70 into 1 and 2 on the Quad Capture. I also connect midi .

I can capture a style performance and save it as a MIDI file or
record audio via MixCraft.

I can get around faster with the on board sequencer (G70).

All my modifications and mix are easier on the G70.

And it is very flexible.. For example.. I can play style performance
including right hand parts...as an audio record, but let's say
I want to use a bass or guitar, or both as midi..
Simply set the channels of the parts to midi and arm.

After you record, you can assign any bass and guitar VST you want..
Mix down to the audio of your choice and you are done..

A combination of audio/midi, mixed down to audio.

Also vocal and harmonizer records as audio with ease thru the G70.

Thank you Fran for posting and explaining.

I would like to add though that all of this can be done ( and more) with virtually every current arranger keyboard. I can do so with my Ketron SD7 but even with my old Korg PA50sd. And instead of using your Roland souncard any two way ( or even better four way) soundcard can do the trick, e.g. the STeinberg UR22 or the Behringer, etc. ) I myself use the Behringer U-Phoria UMC404 which handles four audio channels simultaneously as well as full MIDI and comes really cheap. just over 100 euros here in Europe). The audio quality is just very slightly less than the Steinberg interface imho but amply sufficient and very good.
And of course I also use Mixcraft 9 Pro as my DAW which is a fantastic program and even includes a bunch of VSTs itself as you well know. So basically what you are describing depends less on the keyboard ( assuming it is at least motl or better still totl) than on the soundcard and DAW that one uses.........I think.....

regards,
John

For me that says it all. That does not put down the many things that others do. I did so much with the same keyboard, and even till today with all the new technology, I would be happy to own another one.

Thank God that we are not all the same.
