Why don't you ask the creator Dan directly? I think he was involved in some recent discussions here.

Yes, vArranger is still in the business smile And never stop to be improved !

Those days, I have received few recorded songs by users at home.
I have all kind of users, and all kind of setup...
This one is using our soundbanks + some VST instruments for the incredible melody tracks recorded 100% live

This one is playing with his midi guitar and a breath controller + midi pedals... to add some harmony notes etc.. and have fun with TC helicon vocal proc

I have been using vArranger for nearly 10 years. I have spent a lot of time the past 8 weeks using vArranger without a Ketron Sound Module and using Dan's synth. It works really well. I have also auditioned nearly 4000 style from various keyboards using the synth and have eliminated about 2/3 of them. The remaining ones play ok - some will need tweaking. My goal is to cut the number down to about 100 of the best sounding styles of various genres and go with that.

On another note - Dan's level of support for vArranger owners is without question at the top of the list. I have sent him emails late at night and he will answer - even though it is 3:00-5:00 in the morning in Paris. Also, if you post on the forum you get an answer almost immediately.

Oh yea, I use a Roland A-800 Pro 61 key controller with vArranger. With Dan's built-in controller options I have the Roland controls setup exactly like you would have on a normal arranger keyboard.

vArranger is great software, its only downside is that it doesn’t run on Mac which is the most common computer used by musicians.
Another point to note is that it says that it will run on XP & Vista which is fine, but most VSTs do not support anything below a 64bit version of Windows 7 which I think should be mentioned in the specs.

I was one of Dan's first customers years ago,and Dan has always been there for me. I had always used my SD2 Ketron module for a sound source. While it is still very capable,I didn't want to carry the extra gear. I know there has been so many improvements, but I slid behind the times. Now I don't know what the best way for me to go to install an internal sound source that is equal to the SD2. I guess VST's,but I am not up to all of that. I am working on getting a good soundset, but the corono virus has put a hold on that.

The fact is,however,I will have to migrate to a super portable setup, and, there is nothing like vArranger for me.
