Common Randy fire up that KORG Pa4xand give us a tune...
your choice.... keys

Well Donny, since you asked, I dug this PA4X performance out of the closet.... it is a rare (rare!) vocal I did on the PA4X just about 3 years ago. As we all know, the Korg styles have a great feel to them and they inspired me to take a shot at a song recorded long ago, by one of my all-time idols, Mr Chet Baker.

Hope you like my (rare!) vocal rendition of "She Was Too Good to Me". It was fun recording it on the PA4X!

Randy as I sit out here on the front porch sipping a nice Australian Shiraz just chilli' & listening to your performance I have to say I am really digging the groove & you certainly did a nice job on the vocals also. Korg sounds Live too..
The Korg Pa4x style you chose is just right for this song.
Thank you so much for sharing your work...very enjoyable.

clap clap cool2

Thanks Donny for the listen and the kind words! I have always loved Chet Baker. Such a humble voice, a talented trumpet, and such a tragic life. Anyway, the PA4X is crammed with potential and the vocal processing ain't too bad either! Thanks again for the listen and encouragement!

Thanks Don! The Korg is a great machine and it even gave a boost to my singin'. It was fun -- the PA4X is definitely a keeper!

Randy, nice job, really nice. As usual, you put your feeling into the song.
I share your feelings, I have a Sx900, and a Pa4x – and I can hear the Pa4x calling me. I guess keyboard perfection is having both.

John - thanks Man! I know we are of the same nature about a lot of these things. And we have the same taste in keyboards too! smile It's a sweet song and I have always loved the songs Chet Baker did. Glad you liked my tribute to one of my all time favorite jazz men. It is so much fun to go through styles and find new ways to envision songs with a history! The PA4X is packed with great styles too!

Thanks again for the listen and the kind words - definitely appreciate your kindness and encouragement!

Brother Randy,

Great job I remember you sent me that recording a few years ago and it sounded good then and it still sounds good. For a guy main instrument is the sax, you have done the keys and that vocal justice!

Thanks for the listen Steve! Glad I kept the Korg in the shack. Now if I can just get more room to get it back in front of me...

Randy ... sorry for the late entry on this, but I just got to listen ...
I REALLY LIKED it, man ... nice work, ... mellow vocal, I dig the pan flute, and the style is great ... is that a 6/8 style? do you remember the name? I'd like to find something similar on my Pa900 ...
As Donny said, find room for the 4x and do more with it - and don't make the vocals so rare ...

Donny - Well, it's raining here so I got the Korg hooked back up! Great to play it again. Now I remember why I didn't let it go...

Tony - thanks so much! And you were right - I used a 6/8 style and it is the "Brush Ballad" style. Thanks again for the listen and the kind words Tony!

Mitch, John, and Al - thanks guys! Definitely appreciate your kindness and the listens! I sang in college (had to as a music major - many choruses of "Rare Old Wine" HA HA). It's fun playing with the melodies on some of these wonderful old songs and attempting the occasional vocal. Glad you liked what I did and thanks again so much for your kind words!

That was really nice Randy. As a trumpet player I have always enjoyed Chet's horn and vocals. You were able to emulate his pure vocal style which I just love. What a life he had, huh?

Thanks Scott! Always happy to meet another Chet Baker fan! As I recall, Ted Garrett (local) had a great voice that sounded like Chet was in the room! Indeed, Chet had a rough life all the way to the end.

Thanks for the listen and response - definitely appreciate it!

Stay safe over there!
