For those of you that didn't know, both Deane and I graduated from UNT (formerly North Texas State) and we're fortunate to have have studied drums with master drum teacher, Ed Soph, who performed with such as luminaries as Woody Herman, Stan Keaton, bill Evans, Clark Terry, Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson, Eddie Gomez and so many more. Deane was kind enough to share some rare recordings of Ed playing with Woody Herman back in the 70's.
