As I said, the SD7 is too long and heavy for me these days. I'm not saying I would never get another one, but I would say the odds are less than 1 percent.
I wouldn't rule out an SD90, but it's highly unlikely as well. I'm happy with what I have right now as I much prefer an all-in-one arranger setup.
I have two outside jobs scheduled in June, if they aren't canceled, and the light weight EA7 will be a pleasure to transport and set up.
When and if things ever get back to normal I would be more inclined to look at alternatives. Right now I'm more concerned with getting a vehicle to replace my aging Expedition. The insurance company MIGHT total it out after the recent hailstorm.
Meanwhile I continue to discover new things on my Roland, which I try to make myself play at least a few minutes every day.

Donny and I are adjusting to our "retirement rigs" ... although I will still have to work another 10 years or so before I can actually retire. My plan is to use the SD60 and my guitar rig for all live shows, and keep my studio running as is - Korg SV1, PA4x, Yamaha SX900, Digital and acoustic drums, electric, acoustic and bass amps .... all the software goodies, and great mics from Neumann, Warm audio, EV, Shure, Sennheiser and others. Once I get the SD60 (I know I've said this many times) I'm set. I will put all my energies into learning, and perfecting the best way to make these tools SERVICE ME.
For you guitar guys ... heres' the rig that I use with guitar/drums/looping and tracks. The mixer has aux/mute outs that allow me to run the iPads into 2 channels (to feed the harmonizer) then BACK into the main mix through the main out of the Voice Live 3. It essentially operates as 2 independent mixers. This model also supports 2 wireless mics that plug in with a single USB dongle to channels 1 & 2 - sweet.
(seems like when I shrunk the pic to attach, the graphics got faded and hard to see - sorry)

Yes, got that notice a while back, and did the update. I have 2 of the Xvivve U3s for mics, and a pair of U2s for guitar, as well as a set of Roland WL-20L - use them all the time, but I like having the charging station right in this rig. It's always ready to go when I power up the rack.

Dave, that looks like an amazing guitar rig. Could explain the equipment and how you use it to play guitar, sing, harmonize, play backing tracks, usage of beat buddy.
Thanks,
Mitch

Thanks Mitch, it's pretty straight forward ... mostly. My backing tracks are on the iPad. It mounts right in front of me on a stand that connects to the upright holding my guest mic. This gives me access to Karaoke platforms, YouTube, and my custom created tracks that I've amassed over the years. That iPad feeds INTO the mixer, then out of the AUX faders INTO the VL3. That allows the VL3 to grab the chords from the tracks for harmony purposes. If there is no track playing, then the guitar sends chord info. For a request that I don't have programmed (which is A LOT) I have the Beat Buddy ready to give me a solid drum beat to play guitar with. I can tap tempo, and trigger fills and variations during live play - it's awesome. If it's more intimate, and acoustic - the looper allows so many options for creative layering as well. Mostly, I play chords, and small riffs over the tracks from the iPad. The iPhone is playing constantly, and I mute the volume during sets, but it's ready to turn on in an instant to fill dead air. If someone comes up to talk, or I take a break .... I just pull that fader up and the music is playing.

Gotta hit the showers - I have my first LIVE show in front of LIVE PEOPLE in 1.5 hours! YIKES!

Thanks for the explanation Dave. One last question...are you running the guitar through the VL3 for amp sims along with vocal harmony? Any latency?
Sorry...that’s two questions.
Thanks,
Mitch

Yes Mitch - the guitar goes into the VL3 via the wireless - no latency that I can tell, but I'm no shredder. VL3 is the best piece of gear I own.
