Has anyone midi’d up an arranger to a digital piano? Can you play the arranger left hand on the piano? I’m thinking Yamaha p125 with s975. Any thought?

It's probably been 14 years ago I had a Casio digital piano and had it midi connected to a PSR 3000. I seem to remember I was able to play on the Casio then have the PSR3000 act as module. I never used the keys on the PSR3000. After hauling that gear to gigs I decided to scrap the idea and eventually just used the 3000.

That depends, i prefer it when you can send sepperate notes for left and right on sepperate midi channels.... then its just a matter of setting up the chord recognition on your arranger to the channel assigned to the left hand channel on the piano..

This way you can combine the sounds of your piano with the sounds of the arranger

Hi Cassp,
I have my p121 midi’d to my sx900.

BUT, the p121 and p125 don’t have dedicated midi sockets only midi via USB.

I use my laptop as an interface between th 2, I found using iPad as interface, there was the faintest touch of latency, ( maybe just the way I had it setup).
Best option would be a dedicated interface box, I haven’t checked into those, as my laptop setup is good enough for my home use.

I had my piano just as a controller, sound , styles etc were all from the sx, even the split. So yes, will do the left hand chords. Just had a very basic set up.

This small company makes nice MIDI USB hosts. It comes with an app to change settings.

ABSOLUTELY! My SV1 controls the PA4x just as if the 4x had a weighted 73 note keybed. I use it like this often, but mostly, I play them separate. The slight reach to the 4x is very comfy, and gives me full 73 note Rhodes, under a solid bass, drum and "color" sound (organ, brass etc) up top.
