Benn listening to and enjoying a lot of Jerry Caringi from Toronto on the Audya 5. He's another with an amazing left hand.
Ciao,

I always enjoyed Craig Knudson, although he has been pretty low key lately.

These demo's were done 10 years ago.

This guy is a very good player but it seems to me he doesn't need much Arranger help. LH Bass and a variety of RH sounds and drums from the Arranger. I think you could do this on any number of regular keyboards with a drum machine. ??? Again very good player and I'm not knocking it at all but it shows what you can really get away with. Imagine all of that level of playing and a vocal too.

If you CAN - assign the chord recognition to the RH, play manual bass and turn OFF the acc bass. This way the RH has lots of layers happening underneath. I do this a lot. Having a dedicated bass that matches the song to a tee makes it so much more specific. You can play hits, and syncopations between hands when you play your own bass lines that no arranger can anticipate, unless you have a specific pattern programmed. On the fly accents can add so much to an arrangement.

Thanks though!

You know Don, one time I was being compared to a piano player who in my mind I clearly took a back seat...The man knew knew theory, played better, but the man making the comparison was having none of it, & clearly favored me. I told him he was crazy... He looked at me & said "I look at the complete package"...

I believe the guys look at the complete package with you....Rock on Mason

Agreed, great way to make it sound more live. I can play LH bass no problem but it never occured to me when I went to Arrangers. Before that I always played bass pedals , did rhythm chords with LH, RH accents and solos, and sang. Goes way back to my B3 days. Now I chord with LH so maybe I should try doing more LH bass
Arranger are amazing versitile instruments if you dig into the features.

Many times, all you need to "fill up" an arrangement, while playing manual bass and chords is a pad, or guitar strum following your chords. Think of the many trios we've heard over the years where piano, bass and drums were the ONLY instruments used. Add a little "fluff" to the background, and your piano hand can get more creative, and thin out a bit for solo passages.
