We would probably need to have a little more information like what type of Yamaha keyboard do you have and what are some of the specs on your computer.

But generally, if you want the sound from your keyboard to come through the computer speakers, you will need to connect the line out on your keyboard (usually a quarter inch jack) to the line in on the computer.

Soz, its a yamaha PSR-140 with only midi in & out headphones and mains plug on the back

theres a M-Audio MIDI interface cannecting it to my pc usb port,

the comp is a dell dimension 2300 standard SoundMax ADI Sound Card, 40Gb HD, 512Mb Ram, 2.4G Processor, updated graphics card & Harman/Kardon surround sound speakers with sub,

Is there any software or anyway to play the yamaha straight to the pc speakers

You would probably have to go from the headphones jack of the keyboard to the line in of the sound card.

I would agree wit "to the genesys". The MIDI cables and most likely the USB be, are not transmitting audio signals but data signals only. But the headphone out is transmitting audio signals and more than likely on two tracks for stereo (Right and left) so if the line in on your PC is not stereo, you may need a "Y" connector changing the stereo signals to one mono signal.

Best wishes
