What is the Ebay policy that washes a deal when the buyer does not pay in a reasonable time.
My Prelude buyer has not paid or contacted me.. it will be 48 hours tomorrow afternoon (2pm).. At that time I would like to cancel the sale if Ebay drops all the fees.. I really don't mind keeping the Prelude(I like it). What I get out of selling it is no big deal. frown

I just read the Ebay policy is wait 48 hours and you can open a case and clear Ebay fees.

Your auction ended on a weekend, right? That might be part of it - maybe they don't check their computers till they get back to a certain location. I'd send the buyer an email, and give them the benefit of the doubt. maybe life is screwed up where they live, too.

Hi Fran,
sometimes things go wrong, especially in these crazy times. Maybe give buyer a bit longer, unless you’re having sellers remorse.

Had a non payer once , took a bit of sorting out, but was able to cancel the deal and not pay fees. Dam annoying though.

I talked to Ebay, I don't want the hassle of opening a case.. I told ebay I would give the buyer another 48 hours, and I have the option of cancelling the sale... Since I would not mind keeping the Prelude anyway.

The Ebay buyer was a dead beat.. He never responded to me or Ebay.. A case was opened for non payment.. after a couple days Ebay said the sale was cancelled.. A pain.. in the mean while I have to wait for fees to be returned to me frown

I relisted with a buy now only ... crap or get off the pot smile

The irritating thing .. I can't give the deadbeat a negative feedback shocked

I don't mind the sale being cancelled. In fact I am relieved . For a small profit on the sale I rather keep the Prelude.

What I don't think was fair, I lost potential buyers on both Ebay and Facebook Marketplace, by dropping the ads.

I think Ebay should take responsibility and force the buyer to pay..

Let me explain as a business account member on Ebay , I am liable to make people whole.. Ebay takes funds from my accounts in escrow.
This assures payment after a decision is made..

Ebay makes plenty of money, they should protect sellers as well as buyers (even business sellers).
