Don, I never heard those lyrics, and I performed this song almost daily. I guess they changed them somewhere along the way.

Here's my rendition of Tequila Sunrise that I performed in the S-950 and recorded live while I was performing at Sombrero Resort in Marathon, Florida. Wow, that was a fun job, they paid me much more than the have guitar will travel guys, plus tossed in a bonus of 50 that could only be spent for meals at the resort restaurant, which was outstanding.

Ironically, a slightly different version of those lyrics can be found in a Jimmy Buffett Song, Boat Drinks. "I'd like to go where the pace of slow, wont you beam me somewhere Mr Scott. Any old place, on earth or in space, you pick the memory and I'll pick the spot." Wow! I just pulled that out of my head. Guess there's still a little bloodflow in the gray matter,

That's why I posted them. They only did them in live shows, sometimes. Jimmy Buffet very often changed the words to his own songs. Album version of Margaritaville had these:
"Old men in tanktops
Cruising the gift shops
Checkin' out Chiquitas down by the shore
They dream about weight loss
Wish they could be their own boss
Those three day vacations become such a bore

Also last verse:
"I blew out my flipflop, stepped on a poptop,
broke my leg and had to drag it back home.
