Initial Touch - Do you use it ? With All or Some Of Your Sounds.

Do you think sounds are better with or without ?

As far as I am concerned, the sounds are better with Initial touch. I just tried Moonlight Serenade with initial touch off and the voices did not sound as mellow.
However, this may change depending what song you are playing.

I appreciate this does not answer your question but when using registration, maybe sometimes on and sometimes off depending on the song.

However, you have given me food for thought and I will continue to experiment.

“Initial Touch” allows you to put more feeling/expression as you play. The first time I heard about, Initial touch it was on a Wersi organ.

They created it with two different sounds. Let’s say the first sound was a Trumpet; the second could be a Sax Sec.

Yamaha’s term “initial touch” stands for velocity sensitivity.
All Tyros/Genos have and are termed “ initial and after touch “ sensitive.

Without velocity, most sounds will be lifeless with few exceptions.
