Anyone been following the vids on YouTube? This board actually sounds pretty darn good. Granted they’re riding on contractual agreements with some of the technology, this arranger still has one hell of a feature list for the price. Medeli has really put a lot of their resources into this new model. It sounds good, and priced ridiculously low compared to the competition. I think Medeli will sell a ton of these.

SQK, I played a few of the Medeli, what came to mind was most of their keyboards are at a low level. If I want to sell it the price will be low – so the only expense is the difference in price. When you spread that over two or three years it does not hurt. The difference buys me a keyboard with history, and a world of support.

Only my opinion, John C.

I’ve never really been a big fan of Medeli. Although I played the SP4200, and came very close to buying it. This new AKX10 is a completely different beast for Medeli. I’ve been following a guy on YT posting rather long and in-depth vids on it. It really doesn’t sound like your typical Medeli IMO. It seems they leaned heavily on their Yamaha contracts with this new model, and it even sounds like that technology contract has expanded too. I’d be very surprised if Medeli did this new model on their own too. I have a feeling another major company has helped them produce this keyboard.

That’s the guy I’ve been following. He has new vids up that are much better than this. One is very long and he goes through the sounds. Certainly better sounding than Casio.

Squeak have you heard the LATEST Casios with the AiX chip?

All that being said, I can't imagine anyone on this forum choosing the Medeli over a Yamaha on which it is based. Everything this does, a Yamaha PSR-SX900 does better (including parts, service, resale, etc.)

If companies like Medeli want to play in the big leagues, someone in their management / finance department should make Roland a blockbuster offer for the rights to continue developing Roland's TOTL arranger technology. Long Live Chord Intelligence!

One player leaves the game, another enters. My $.02.

The latest Casio’s sound just like my MZX-500. The CTX is supposed to be a new chip, but it sounds just like the MZX sound chip. A lot of those “new” articulated tones on the CTX, come directly from the MZX.

This new AKX10 isn’t the usual Medeli.., that’s the point I’m making. The AKX10 for Medeli is what Casio tried to do with the MZ and MZX line. Again.., I think Medeli had some serious help producing this one, and that new AKX10 sounds much better than my MZX and the CTX line IMO. I’m also willing to bet the keybed on the Medeli is miles ahead of the garbage Casio put on the MZX models.

It’s a long video, but it sure doesn’t sound like your typical Medeli.
