Did any one use Sonority XXL with Yamaha psr? Does it's Drum kit mapping matches with Yamaha psr styles?

You mean the Yammex expander?

Interesting concept. I guess if we can’t get arranger manufacturers to allow us to define MIDI send from all knobs, buttons, sliders etc, create a module that uses the software hooks that the arranger uses on itself.

The Sonority XXL is slightly different to the Yammex, the Yammex is specifically adjusted to Yamaha keyboards midi-wise in some ways.

The OP mentioned a PSR in his post, so I wondered if he actually meant the Yammex…

Thanks for your reply. I know about Yammexx, but unfortunately it doesn't have the drum kits, that's why I was trying to research about Sonority XXL, as it has full drum kits also. I asked the customer service, so they said the drums are not compatible with Yamaha psr arranger styles due to some " 63 MSB " thing, which doesn't allow two voices together. I am not very good in MIDI so only understood that it's not plug n play, or compatible. Also not sure if there is any way to make it compatible with Yamaha psr styles.

I’m pretty sure if there WAS a way to make it Yamaha compatible, Sonority would have figured it out by now… They seem to have gone the extra mile with the Yammex.

Why don‘t you email Klaus Dzida at contact@v3sound.com? He‘s the person behind V3Sound, he answered me personally when I had questions about my Sonority XL. I guess he speaks English too.

I did email to V3 Sound. They said Yamaha calls drum sounds on MSB 63 (as user sound), while Sonority XXL have drum sound at MSB 21, so cannot be played by Yamaha arranger. Only Yammexx works with Yamaha but it doesn't have any drum kit. So only voices at MSB 62 & 63 can be played on Yamaha.
