Purchased a footswitch (non technics) when used on kn6000 it requires double tap to swich on/off.
Footswitch has been tested and it works as intended 1 tap for on 1 tap for off. So it must be a keyboard fault.
Can any one help?
Many thanks

Hello Andra,

NO.... It's NOT a keyboard fault !
It looks like your footswitch is not compatible with Technics Keyboards. The only footswitch which will work correctly is one which is just a momentary connection as long as the switch is depressed... i.e. Contact made across the jack Plug when the footswitch is depressed and contact broken when it is released....... The Technics Brand footswitches are made this way and there are many others by different manufacturers which are also suitable.

It sounds like the one you have is a 'Latching' type and will not work with your keyboard or any Technics keyboard

So I have to keep the switch pressed all the time to keep my rhythm unit working.
This is not very convenien as it means I then can't use my foot for anything else.

I don't think you understand what I posted earlier... You don't need to keep your foot on the switch ! Just press it once briefly to activate the particular function which you have selected for the footswitch.... For example : If you have selected the Start/Stop option, then one brief press of the switch will Start the rhythm going and another brief press will Stop the rhythm. If you've selected Intro/Ending then the first press of the footswitch will start the selected Intro and the next press of the switch will initiate the Ending process......
This will only work with a footswitch which is NON-Latching.... From your initial post, it would seem that your switch is a Latching type.

To see if you have a compatible footswitch, you need to check across the Jack plug for a circuit when the switch is pressed and no circuit when it is subsequently released......

Foot switch ordered.
Thank you again,
