Hi All, I hope I am finding you all well.

I've recently bought a KN6500 in great condition and I want to load up styles from previous KN keyboards. I've found some KN2000,3000 & 5000 styles from an old archive from my HD and thought great! But when I am trying to load them, it gives me an error saying its not for that machine!!!

I am now not sure if these KN styles were actually saved from a KN7000 now coming to think of it, which of course isn't compatible.

Is there a way i can get these working, or even re-download styles specifically for the KN6500 at all?

Thank you very much for any help,
All the best,
Danny.

Hi.
Here is a site where you can download different styles and some software for the KN keyboards.
http://www.ca-software.com/technics/downloads/index.htm

Ususally Technics did not load styles for newer models, but was usually backward compatible if I do not remember it wrong.

Another site to explore:

Hi Gunner,

I really appreciate your reply and the links you posted, thank you.

Unfortunately the files from the first link you posted don't seem to work on my laptop so that was a shame.

With the second link, I can see that the files are linked to styles converted from Yamaha which wasn't quite what I was looking for. I am ideally looking for the internal Technics styles of the KN2000, 3000 & 5000 keyboards.

Thank you for your reply anyway I do appreciate it smile

Take care,
Danny

That's strange. Is'nt there a 'dropdown' menu where you can click and then choose what keyboard model, and then a list of downloadable files?

Works like a charm here......

Added a zip with some printscreens.

Thank you for those screens. That wasn't the issue, sorry I should have been clear, it's when I've got the files, they are in .exe format and when trying to extract them (I presume that's what you're meant to do with them) that's when I get the error saying my laptop can execute the files.

I will probably give up on it now as it's a bit of a hassle getting extra content and deal breaker if I am only limited to the KN6500 styles as I really like the styles of the previous series. My dad had a KN5000 and really liked those styles. I may end up trading it for something else.

Thanks for your help and all the best,
Danny

Ahhh, I see.
I downloaded the 6500 file, and extracted it. Not by run the exe-file directly, but with use of 7 Zip. It's a superb software.
(Right click and open, os simply 'send to')
https://www.7-zip.org/
I seem to remember it was zipfiles, but I think the exe was to ekstract the files stright to floppy or SD-cards. 🤔

Here is the first in 6500 category extracted and zipped.

Someplace on one or another external HD I have tons of Technics stuff like styles etc. Maybe some of the days during the loooong and cold winter I'll go through it and see what to find.......

PS, if I remember it correctly, when use floppydisk the files must be in root, not in any folder.
