is still in the process of being completed, which is a large, conference/dining room table made of 2-inch thick Mappa Burl. I still have another week or two of work to complete this, but in the mean time, I tried to make a solid guitar body from a smaller piece. Unfortunately, it was too thin to accept a guitar neck, therefore, I transformed it into a serving tray, which I will give to my daughter in law for a birthday present.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Thanks Paul. The big table is a real challenge, but with luck, I'll get it done and post some photos here.

Today, I will learn to use a wood router, which is a tool that I have never used. I must insert 4 2-inch pieces of steel C-channel into the bottom of the table to prevent it from warping. Two measure 6 feet long, while the other 2 measure 2 feet long. Both are an inch high and 3/16-inches thick. This will add nearly 50 pounds to the table's overall weight.
