I bought a used PA700 a few years ago at a Guitar Center for 800 USd. Looking at the current prices, I'm guessing I'd get more than I paid, as it was and still is in excellent condition. I still like it but was considering going to the 1000 for the harmonizer. Trouble is, no one seems to have any in stock.

I'm fine w/ the rest of the 700. Is using a separate harmonizer with the 700 a viable option? I have a Genos as well, and it's a great instrument for me, but sometimes the ease in which I can move the 700 around is a factor, depending on where I am playing.

go to ebay and look for a korg ih harmony module . i use one for years on my korg arranger.its great with hands on controls (old school) there is one for sale 149.00 . it will work well with your 700.

The thing about built-in harmonizers on arrangers, none of the arranger companies have a well regarded standalone harmonizer pedal. If any at all. I figure, if they haven’t got a decent standalone version, how good could the built-in one be?

The best selling harmonizers are by TC-Helicon (I have a Perform VK) and Boss. None of whom make arrangers. Korg used to license some TC technology (not sure if it made it to the lower end models), but dropped it for the PA5x.

The only thing built-in harmonizers got you is better integration into the OS, but they simply didn’t match up to the standalone harmonizers (IMHO).

Thanks for the replies Wrinkles and Diki. I'm quite comfortable playing both the 700 and Genos, so I'll be looking for an external harmonizer. I don't care much about having the latest boards, only that what I do have works for me.

To that end, I still have and use a Motif ES from 2004 or so. It was the only upgrade I did from that series, after I sold my original Motif 6 to Nigel. I never upgraded again because the next generation boards did not allow me to install the 2 PLG synth-expansion boards I have in the ES.
