We've lost one of the greatest of the Great American Book singers. I found it heart warming his last concert that he performed with Lady Gaga despite full blown dementia. I also appreciated his jazz sensibilities, particularly his work with jazz pianist great, Bill Evans. A silky, golden voice, that will always be unmistakable. A true American icon.

He was one of my heroes in the world of music. I was always amazed at how long his voice held up despite his advanced age. Sinatra said that Tony Bennett was the best male vocalist, ever! I think he was right. He will be missed, but surely always remembered.

The last of his breed… all that left are copycats and wannabes. A truly original voice and phrasing. You heard Tony Bennett and you knew immediately who it was. Nowadays, you hear a crooner, you hear Bennett or Sinatra or Martin. Or at least their best efforts to sing like them.

Sinatra and Bennett defined the genre…

RIP.
