I have the DGX-670.
I have a PC with Win 10
I have an Intel Macbook Pro with Cubase Elements

Right now, I use an iPad with Songbook+ connected to the keyboard and I am quite pleased with the Setup and results.

I recently purchased "StyleMagic" to hopefully create Styles from midi and to edit "OTS" which cannot be done on the Board. I was able to change "OTS" successfully with StyleMagic.

Now for my question?
What I am looking for is an interface between the keyboard and computer. Right now, I am putting everything on a flash drive and moving from PC to Board which is not very efficient

Can be PC or Mac

Please advise

I also transfer edited styles from PC to my Yamaha Tyros 5 by copying them to and from USB. If there's another way, I would like to know too!

I never seriously researched the DGX-670. The Tyros 5 was the first Tyros that didn't have Yamaha's "Internet Direct Connection." Additional songs, styles, and expansion packs purchased from Yamaha have to be added to expansion RAM using Yamaha's clunky "Expansion Manager" software. I guess it's an anti-piracy thing (which I understand.) But I liked the Tyros 4 better, with its Internet Direct Connection. Following this thread!

One more thought... I'm not sure whether you have tried some of the Yamaha iOS apps like Chord Tracker. I messed around with them and was very impressed. So much so that I decided not to sell my T5. FWIW.

I did find "Yamaha Musicsoft Downloader" which works flawless when the Board and PC are connected. I now tranfer all my files from the PC to the board this way....NO MORE FLASH DRIVES !!!!

https://shop.usa.yamaha.com/musicsoft-downloader

But to use it, I have to unplug from the iPad and plug it to the PC.

I am looking for some kind of interface to use so that I don't have to change cables.

Ron

I can’t vouch for whether it would work, but have you looked into CME’s WIDI gear..? There are some mergers in their product lineup that might allow you to do librarian tasks at the same time as you interface with the iPad.

Mind you, I'm wondering why you’d need this? Is there a scenario where you are doing file transferring AND something on the iPad at the same time? It’s possible there’s something out there that MIGHT work, but it seems an expensive solution to unplugging the iPad every now and again… How often do you need to do it? It occurs to me that Songbook is only really needed while performing, not when creating styles or OTS’s…

Life might be a lot simpler (and less expensive!) if you just unplug that iPad the few times you need to…
