Lately, I have been increasingly more irritated at some of the content on the internet. Way too much deceptive information, or just plain misleading posts created to sell stuff.

One thing I am REALLY glad of, though, is the chance to meet Sergey (Kabinopus). His comments show an admirable combination of intelligence
and sensitivity.

Then, I looked at his profile and listened to some of his musical posts, which were some of the best here.

Like my treasured interactions with Chas and Gary, the contact with this delightful young man (young to me) would not have happened anywhere but on the internet.

We just started talking, but I look forward to a mutually enjoyable, on-going friendship.

And if we were ever to met in person, I'd jump at the chance to hop on the bandstand with him.

So glad you're here, friend!

Russ

Check him out. He can REALLY play!

This is un unexpected topic to read :-) I appreciate your kindness, Russ; I see that we both registered on this forum 20 years ago; back then dealing with English was a bigger struggle for me, but perhaps I felt that this place was worth to stick around. It is surely sad that a lot of members are no longer with us. I think the reason I stayed here all this time is that people like you, Gary and others share a lot of life experience, not limited to music. Perhaps it could be called "depth" of conversations. If it was only about how to download a style or which keyboard to buy, that would be just data.
So, I'll take this chance to congratulate people who are still here with the fact that we went that far; the internet is very fast today in many senses, it's also noisy, and it is lucky to have a place which exists on its own and has its own chemistry. You've been contributing a lot here, Nigel had a lot of respect for you, and I'm always interested in reading your posts.

Thank-you. In high school, I was fascinated by books written about the revolution and the struggle of the Russian people. Then, I got interested in works depicting the older cultures and times.

You have piqued my interest again.

And I look forward to hearing more from you; both musically and personally.

Best regards,

Russ
