I got an email from my very good friend Chas last Friday on the way out the door for a 30 hour recording session.

He has multiple serious physical problems and has shut off his land line.

The area around my eyes got pretty moist when he wrote he had my name at the top of the list of people to call when the time came. He thinks that time may be before Christmas.

It is my position that Chas is the best musician here. But that pales when you realize the type of man he is.

Please think good thoughts about our dear friend.

I'm so very glad to know him.

So sorry to hear this. We are definitely reeling from Gary’s news, and this is yet more.

Chas are one of the members I always have respected a lot during all those years at SZ!

Sending my very best wishes and lots of positive energy from the west coast of Norway.

Very sobering to hear that some of our longest and most prolific contributors aren't doing well. Best wishes to Gary and Chas.

Of course we miss Chas and Gary’s contributions, and hope the best for both of them.

My apologies. I realize now the post was about Chas and not Cass. No excuse on my part, my eyes are becoming less and less accurate as I get older.

Sigh...

Wishing peace for Chas...

I'm not dead yet, but the docs say I am a fighter and don't give up easily. My lungs continue to worsen, and one of the treatments for the shortness of breath is Morphine, which has a lot if side effects, including constipation. Just what a person with a permanent colostomy does not need.

Now, the macular degeneration has advanced to where my vision is shot to Hell, making it difficult to read the screen on the smart phone. What the Hell else could go bad on this 84 year old body?
