Who knows? smile but the Go Keys 3 and 5 are pretty interesting.

Although, I wouldn't expect an updated version of the G-70 or the BK-9 as a competition for the Yamaha Genos or Korg PA5X, but it would be nice.

Good question, but I have a feeling that Roland has left the arranger keyboard market.
I highly doubt that there will be anything new, at least not in the MOTL and TOTL segment.
It has been too long since the last ones .......

Only the future will tell how long Yamaha, Korg and Ketron will continue to develop their model lines. 🤔
In the meantime,
we can still have a great time and enjoy the brands and models we have and that are still available. 😉👍

Roland’s gone from the pro/advanced arranger market. With sales being low and development costs being high, I would be gobsmacked to see them reenter such a dwindling market. Others are having huge problems (Korg’s flagship is a hot mess of bugs, missing features and almost complete lack of communication from the company) and to be honest, I would not be surprised to see more of them leaving. Korg probably… they have nothing in the MOTL market but the 7 year old PA1000, with none of the technology from the PA5x, and let’s be honest, it’s sales of the midline that provide the R&D budget primarily, so probably a root cause of why bugfixing and refinement of the PA5x has been so slow.

My last hope from Roland might be an app for a tablet that either addresses their synth/workstation hardware, or a software ROMpler. The kids no more want to snap up an arranger than we wanted to gig with a home organ back in the 70’s and 80’s! Polysynths were the ‘cool’ keyboards, and while Prophet5’s and Oberheim’s ruled the airwaves, none of us wanted to be seen as young 20 something’s playing a home organ rocking an Enka beat!

The asteroid has already hit us, it’s just taking time for us all to go extinct! 🦖

Happy Holidays all! I'm not sure about "development costs being high." When I look at products like the FP-E50, the core arranger functions are all carried over from prior models like the FP-80 (and frankly very similar to the BK-9.) I suppose when one set of chips, displays, etc., goes out of production the engineers have to adapt the functionality to the new hardware. But that can't cost nearly as much as developing the arranger functionality originally did circa early-1990s.

I'm not surprised that the Pa5X is a "hot mess of bugs" because Korg were very ambitious about introducing new things. I perceive this to be the case with Ketron too. Only Yamaha, which is very conservative about introducing new features, seem to be pretty reliable from initial release.

All this to say, I think if Roland's management perceived a profit opportunity, they COULD release another MOTL arranger, because the foundation still exists and is evident in their other products.

Thank you >> Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year <<

Can someone explain to me, why did Roland shut down Roland Italy? Since we all know that in Europe arrangers are more popular than in the US. Were sales that bad?

By the way: This is off subject: Did Roland ever make a sound card for the BK-9? like the SR-JV80 series or the SRX sound cards?

I don't know the answer to your first question. But the BK-9 doesn't have any provision for expansion cards. I know that the G-70 could, and a lot of folks liked that capability. You could make an argument that for Roland, G-70 was "peak arranger."

Do you think Roland will introduce a new model arranger keyboard after the E-A7 model in 2025?

I would not say hot mess, but....
There has been some bugs, most of it is fixed by softwareupdates.
Myself I only experienced automatic poweroff and startup simply because of my own user faults.
As soon as I've learned my lesson by support from knowledgeable members at Korg Forum, as well as read the manuals, it never happened again.
The OS at Pa5X is brand new created from the bottom, and the filestructure and userinterface is more up to date and different from the past models.
Also some features that is at Pa4X is not continued at Pa5X, but as far as I see it, that's not "bugs".

Even if some of the criticism is or was valid points, I think the majority of basic users seems to be happy and have most likely never experienced the "bugs" such as the most in-depth users report.
If there are more more bugs or new bugs are discovered, I am confident that Korg's engineers will fix these things in upcoming software updates. 👍
