My pleasure Sir, but I've not uploaded the pack, only information and a pdf with info about it. smile
I've added a zip with a txt file where all the 1615 songtitles / registrations are listed.
Btw,
There are also some ChordLooper files for known songs to play along with for those who want to have some fun without use the left hand chords.

This is a nice pack that I'm sure many G2 users will enjoy, and it also show some of the potential by use of playlists and ChordLooper.

Hi Gunnar,

Thank for uploading the list of 1615 Song Registrations of the Yamaha GENOS2 alphabetized by Song Name.

The Genos2 has 800 Factory Styles.

Yamaha has essentially provided 2 Song Registrations that goes with each Factory Style.

The alphabetized Song List is a big time saver.

Just select any Song and you have a Registration Bank ready to play.

I wish Yamaha would take it a step further.

Why not provide the actual XF MIDI file of the Song showing the Melody line and the Chords?
This way one can audition the Song just like you can audition any voice.

This can become such a useful learning tool.

Not a bad idea, but the question is whether it would be a violation of copyright, or simply too expensive if they were to attach midifiles for all these titles.
Lyrics and chords are easy to find online anyway, e.g. on Ultimate Guitar and places like that.

My guess would be the cost factor.

Yamaha sells professional MIDI Files for around $7 per title as many other companies.

https://shop.usa.yamaha.com/en/c/downloadables/songs/midi

It would be a big revenue loss for Yamaha if they were to furnish around 800 fully orchestrated MIDI Files to go with every Factory Style in the Genos2.

The dollar value of this hypothetical feature would be around $5,600. It is understandable why they would not give this away for free even though technically it would be a trivial matter to implement.

I would assume Yamaha engineers have spent thousands of man hours dissecting and analyzing each popular song to create the corresponding Styles, Variations and Fills. They already have the Master MIDI File of each song title that was the inspiration behind each Style. So, it would not entail any extra work to add them in the product.

The benefits to the user community will be enormous. A complete beginner can readily audition the true power of the Genos2 arranger. They could display the Chords and Lyrics along with the Score sheet. They could turn on the Guide Feature and learn how to play the melody

A complete beginner could start having fun from day 1 by going into the SONG SETTING MENU and setting the GUIDE TYPE to ANY KEY.

They could play any note on the keyboard and so long they keep up with the tempo, they will hear a professional rendition of their favorite song. It will inspire them to learn how to read music later down the line.

A non-musician of any age would have an instant repertoire of 800 Songs at their fingertips. It will provide hours of entertainment. The process of getting their feet wet into the world of music would be far more enjoyable than taking boring piano lessons.

This may make the Genos2 to be the ultimate entertainment keyboard and generate more sales.

Copyright for written sheet music is different from copyright for a recording, which is also different from copyright for a reproduction (either MIDI or audio) of the song.

Lee A Baker has uploaded Part-2 of his Genos2 Bonus Playlist video clarifying the installation process using the two PPF files with the Yamaha Expansion Manager.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hmi7eyrL9E

Make sure you have these 2 PPF files when you unzip the download:

Discover_Genos2_Pack.ppf (5,892 KB)

Genos2_Bonus_Playlist.ppf (24,116 KB)

These are the only 2 PPF files you would need to add to your existing Expansion Packs under the Yamaha Expansion Manager.

I applaud Yamaha Engineers for continuously improving the Genos2 and providing us with these free goodies.

I made a video on how to add Discovery Playlist Packs to the keyboard. In the video I also explain another way to access this package. In the description of the video there is a link to download Discovery Playlist Packs, which you can use directly from USB sticks.

Hi Casper,

Thanks a million for providing the ZIP File to download all the 1615 Registrations.

I appreciate your well thought out and easy to follow tutorials.

You have explained 3 ways to install and use these registrations.

1.
Load the PPI File using a USB stick. This bypasses the Yamaha Expansion Manager.
However, it removes all the existing expansion packs you have already installed in your Genos2.

2.
Add the two PPF files to your Yamaha Expansion Manager.
Make sure they have the green check mark along with the other Expansion Packs you want to keep.
Save as a CPI File, not the default CQI File.

Transfer this CPI File to a USB stick and load this Expansion Pack on to your Genos2.
Be patient. This takes about 30 minutes.

3.
Unzip Genos2_Bonus_Playlist from the link in the description.
Copy the Genos2_Bonus_Playlist folder to your USB stick.
You are ready to use these 1615 registrations from the USB stick.
This is the easiest method.

Casper, you are an excellent teacher!
Yamaha should hire you for making their tutorial videos with easy to follow steps.

I would encourage everyone to explore Casper’s YouTube Channel:
