It is a great Les Paul. Beats the hell out of my old Les Paul standard. I usually use it with my Krate (their version of the deluxe). It's a smokin' little AMP. I initially bought it for my bluse harp, but after running a few of my guitars through it I fell in love with the sound. VERY clear. Unlike any other Krate I ever heard.
I also have an old Twin, but it's been a little weird lately. I think the tube is on it's way out....
I used to have a collection of the old AMPegs , but it was too expensive to maintain, so I had to sell it off at an auction.
I'm not surprised that knock offs of the original Les Paul sound and feel better then the real thing. Gibson aren't building their guitars as well as they used to. I had to return a blonde ES 335 'cause even though it looked like a million bucks..it played like shit to put it mildly. So my guitar guy offered to trade the dumb blonde for a PRS single cut, provided I pay about $1500 on top. After trying the PRS I went for the deal immediately. It makes a fantastic Les Paul. Playes itself. Pickups are sweet too, especially the neck. It almost has an acoustic quality to it.
