Hello to all-
I currently own a kn1600 but am having alot trouble working my style music on it. I found a nice kn5000 and am considering buying it. Is that an upgrade from the 1600? Because from what I know the 5000 is an older model? But I'm not sure what to do. I would appreciate everyones input and advice. thanks alot

Hi.

I would say yes, the KN5000 are "top of the range" as KN6 and 7, and the
KN1600 are the "smaller brother" such as KN920 was to KN3000.
But they happen to be produced in between the "big releases" and could
read files from the top of the range that came the year before or so.

Some info here http://achamilton.co.uk/Technics4.htm

Also you can read the KN5000 manual to compare the difference bydownload
from here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SXKN5000.PDF

If you have the chance to try the KN5 you probably also will find it's
keys feel better to play as well, just as we could see a big difference
i.e. between the KN3000 and KN920.

Anyway, good luck and happy playing whatever you choose to play on.
