I'm having an awful lot of trouble trying to record songs in MIDI format from my KN2400. I want to convert them to mp3 to use on a CD of pictures I'm making.

Anyone willing to talk to me on the phone, I can call anywhere in Canada, the US and most of Europe for nothing. Send me your phone number and a convenient time for me to contact you.

I would be very grateful for any help.

Linda

Linda, you need to get a cable to connect the output of your keyboard to the input of your sound card on your computer so you can simply record your keyboard as it plays a MIDI file.

You just need a cable that connects to the the stereo output of your keyboard and an adapter to allow it to plugin into the 1/8 inch stereo input on your PC. Most electronics stores should be able to provide you with these. Then you just run any audio recording software and press play on the keyboard and then save the resulting wav file when it has finished. You can then make an MP3 file from that wav file.

Hi Linda,

A better alternative is to use a USB cable between the KN2400 and the computer. Then either playing live or using a recorded sequence in either MIDI or Technics format you can use the Audio Recorder software supplied with your KN2400 and save the resultant audio file directly as an MP3 file.

Hello Nigel and Len

Many thanks. As you can see from the icon, a light's gone on in my head. I've downloaded the recording software to my computer but - duh! - thought I had to record onto a floppy then transfer to the computer. I have the cable so will give it another go.

Thanks so much, guys! Isn't this a great site?!
