Hi ,
Could any one please tell me where I could down load free styles for my machine.There seems to be a lot around for the kn's but not mine.
Or if any one want's to swap I do have some . I have also bought a few styles discs from ebay designed for the kn and I thought they might work but most didn't, so any one with pr 604 styles I could swap if they had a kn.or has any body have another answer for me.

Hi Joe,

I dont know if you have access to a friendly local KN7000 owner but if so they should be able to copy some KN styles for you.
On the KN, use the Composer/Custom style copy to transfer the style you want into a composer memory (A, B or C). Also copy the appropriate panel settings for variations 1-4 to the panel memories 1-4 of the corresponding panel memory bank (A, B or C). If you then save the Composer and Panel Memory parameters to a floppy you should then be able to load and use them in your PR604.
This method will work for the built in KN styles and custom styles. Some adjustment of sounds might be necessary as not all of the KN sounds are available on the PR604.
I believe it should also work using the same approach with earlier KN's but have not checked this out.

I have the PR804 which uses the same file types as the PR604. The PR604 will load and play TRUE KN6000, KN6500, and KN7000 most file types. As well as the PR702/902 and PR703/903 file types.

It won't load/play KN5000, KN3000, KN2000 and downwards, and won't load PR600/700/900. However, it will load/play the composer only on PR600/700/900 file types.

There is a KN7000 website that does have a free (that's right) a free great library of rhythms from the KN2000, KN3000, KN5000 and KN6500 models in KN7000 format which will work on the PR604. I checked that site out and it's offline for changes.

May I ask what KN model files did you get from Ebay?

Anthony. Yes all from ebay mostly on disc none worked. Then from ebay chap who had a kn6500 bought from him on floppy, some worked but most didn't.Could you please let me have the address of the website you mentioned.

Before you can access the 'FREE' styles on offer you will have to register and give your email address, then follow the instructions.

I suggest you do what I did, get a print of all on offer first then make your selection.
There is a page headed "I have a PR804/PR604/PR54 Piano". Here, it gives clear instructions on how to download the styles offered and you are given a choice of doing this either to Floppy or SD Card etc.

The last item reads:-

You can download:

KN2600 styles - 3 floppy disks
World styles - 5 floppy disks
KN6500 styles - 5 floppy disks
KN5000 styles - 10 floppy disks
KN3000 styles - 5 floppy disks
KN2000 styles - 10 floppy disks

TOTAL 38 FLOPPY DISKS - 727 STYLES

I think this is what you are looking for. I have them all, some are better than others but all are worth having.

Hmmm, the file types from the chap with the KN6500 should work. It might be the *.PMT "Panel Memory" file. Some KN6000/6500 panel memory saves are different which causes the error in load on the PR604/804. Try loading the KN6500 files again but don't load the Panel Memory file (*.PMT). If all loads fine, than it's for sure the *.PMT file which I can fix for you if you want. Let me know how it goes.
