I have styles downloaded from the Technics website which I tried loading on a friends
KN6500,but they would not work.

Anyone got any ideas why?

Technics Keyboards are not backward compatible. KN7000 files will load into KN7000 and KN2600 that is newer. KN6000 and KN6500 files will load into the two newer keyboards. etc.

you would need to invest in the EMC universal (package plus) software to convert the styles .

But when you do the conversion with this program, do you have to tweak the styles somewhat or are they good to go?

I've been converting for about the last 5 years using EMC Styleworks Pro and they require very little tweaking if any - and you can convert Yamaha, Korg, Solton Roland etc styles to Technics styles as well...a brilliant piece of software!!!

When convert to / from other brands using EMC, most often
you have to tweak a lot more than convert between the
different Technics models if you want a good result.
