I talked to my dealer, and she said that, with the price of the new KN7000 and the changes made from the KN6500, it would not be worthwhile upgrading from the KN6500. I, too, like my KN6500. It has more capabilities than I can figure out how to use. I put a hard drive in it, and it now has everything I need and more. Most people buy new keyboards and never use half of the stuff it comes with. I would say that, if you're happy with the KN6500, stay with it. I am.

I keep hearing about the improvement in the organ sounds and organ styles, have there been any improvements worth talking about in the piano, brass or woodwind sounds; or in the dance, disco and entertainment styles?

I'd been wondering about the differences between a 6000/6500 and 7000 myself. If you put aside the 'major hardware' additions such as SD card storage, USB connection, video monitor connection etc., what do you actually get 'new' that can be used when simply sitting down and playing it? Yes there are some revamped styles and some extra voices, but much else? Nice as the 7000 appears to be, I probably wouldn't use much of the new stuff as I tend to sit and play 'live' most of the time.

to change the backings with chord changes you can copy to composer and use the chord modify change. Some experimentation may be needed but it works very well, and is programmable for each track and each note of composer and pads.

for fills for easy composer creations I just copy individual fills from any suitable style into the appropriate slots, you have 8 fills to choose from each preset. You can still edit them once copied, add tracks/notes, delete tracks/notes, change voices etc etc.

for band in a box, just make a midi file of the style, intro, a, b, fill, ending etc in C major. Then load the midi as nx and do a sequencer to composer copy for the (1-4)intro measures, the (5-8)a measures, the (9-12)b measures etc etc for example into the appropriate composer slot. Assign voices, balance etc.
