I want to convert songs played on my kn7000 to MP3 format. The KN is in a separate room about 30 feet from the PC, so I would envisage recording onto a cassette and then connected the output from the recorder into the microphone socket on the PC. But how do I go from there?

This is very high tech stuff for me so answers need to be simple please. (Probably NO it can't be done.....)

the cassette would be lower quality than a good mp3 conversion, so limiting the final quality substantially, even more so feeding into a sound card mic input. Best result would be move the keyboard to pc temporarily while you play the prepared sequences in real time down the usb connection. Even analogue line out to line in on the pc soundcard down 30ft of cable would be better than using a cassette.

Thank you Alec. That gives me the first step but do I need any soft ware to make record the MP3 format on the computer?
