I am wondering if you know the differences between the HR-16 and the HR-16B? Does the 16b contain all the sounds from the original hr-16 and more? Or does it provide completely different sounds? I am looking for a solid drum kit sound for rock. I heard that the HR-16b is more suited for techno, does this mean that it doesn’t contain the same acoustic drum sound capability of the HR-16?
please email me ay mint_fo@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Jim

One of the HR-16 User Reviews at HarmonyCentral.com talks about the HR-16B and recommends it over the HR-16. Here is pretty much what it said, but you should read it yourself.

(Quote .... "twice the sounds of the original HR-16, better OS version ... The black HR-16B has better sounds than the regular grey HR-16. More sounds, and better suited to techno as well. Nice cymbals!! Hi-hats and Rides are really fine!"

I sold both of these products for years. The sounds in the Black HR16 are different. There are very few acoustic sampled drum sounds. Most are hip hop and techno. Most of my customers prefered the HR16 (Grey). If you want great sounds, with lots of them, I would recommend the SR16 which has been out for many years now and is still made. It sells brand new for around $200.00. The number of sounds are really significantly more on the SR over the HR.
