I have a KN5000. Just got a controller switch (4 pedal) for xmas. Every time I change the settings for MY personal setup, they divert back to the default settings. I have not been able to figure out how to save and changes I make to the 4 switches. Can anyone help? I cant believe if I have a song that I use 4 panel settings...that every panel setting has to be separately programmed. Why shouldnt they stay the same?

It's a long time since I had a KN5000 so I can't remember if it has a 'Data Protection' facility. Perhaps you may be able to find reference to this in the manual. Out of interest, on the KN7000, the Data Protection facility is accessed through the 'Customise' Menu. This maybe the same on the KN5000??
Options for Data Protection on the KN7000 are :
Footswitch Controller
Total Equalisation
Initial Touch Sensitivity
After Touch Sensitivity
Microphone Settings
Panel Memory Expand Filter
Each option can be set ON or OFF and when ON, prevents the settings from being altered, except by master resets and initialisation operations.

I think you're right Bill, it is possible to switch off
and on different parts on KN5 as well.
First "Control" - "Foot Controller" and do the settings
you want.
Then push the "Set" button in PanMem section for a few
seconds, then you're in a new menu.
Go to page 2 and set the "Foot Controller" settings to
"Off", then your settings will not be "overwritten" by
next loading.
Well, at least I think so, I don't have such controller
to test it myself.....

Thanks Gunnar - I knew you would offer your help. However, unless the KN5000 had the setting reversed, I think that the Data Protection would have to be set to 'ON'
It should be easy to check by trying both options and seeing what happens.

The "Data Protection" menu I think are new from
KN6 and up?
You have to switch the "foot controller" settings
to "off" to avoid loading other settings from
earlier saved stuff who contain the old settings.
At lest I I think so........
