Hi Everyone,
I decided to start a bit of a styles group for the members who may be interested in creating our own pads & styles.

Hopefully it may be a learning experience for us all.

I've downloaded a couple of waltz styles and xmas pads which Bebop sent to his mailing list.

I've also added a Bossa Guitar style which I've just finished.

The styles are in the files section of the group.

It's good to see the Technicsusers community
groving, and also that more and more websites
related to this keyboards coming up.
However, please be careful regarding uploading
so we don't spread commercial copyrighted files
that way.
Happy playing and posting
GJ

BTW, there are also Kennet's KN7000 Group
at Yahoo: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kn7000/

Gunnar is absolutely right about professional copywrite files
That's how we ended up losing the Technote forum

Hi Rikki,

I like your "style" to use a play on words. You are an idea generator and contributor and it is super to have you as a member of our KN family. I support and encourage you in this effort to develop styles for a couple of reasons. First, the styles will be generated on KN instruments thus negating any need to tweak midi stuff. Second, I am going to try to learn how to create styles so I can assist you in building a library of KN styles for our SynthZone KN family. In doing so I will be feeding my knowledge of my instrument and that has to be a positive step to take. I may have to ask for some help now and then on the technical side of style creation. Hope I can lean on you for that help. Finally, I hope others will join this effort. Everyone of us hears music differently, hence the potential for a wide variety of really neat styles to select from. I will begin tonight, using Alec's manual for the KN6/65 instruments as my guide, to see if I can understand the composer well enough to make an initial style.

Thanks, Rikki, for your enthusiasm and expertise.

Best Wishes, Chuck

Rikki,
I haven't been able to find your Bossa Guitar style in the files section of the Yahoo kn7000 group. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Cheers,
Walt

So should we just forget about having web sites for sharing members music?

Hi Walt,
I actually started a KN7000 Styles Group. It's not the KN7000 Group. The reason for doing it is that the group is specifically to do with styles & pad creation.
I was hoping to get some of the forum members interested in creating their own styles & pads.
We've got the best keyboard around for doing just that.
Many forum members have the musical abilties(which I lack) but they're not quite sure about the process. Collectively we may just get some styles created for our keyboards.

Even though the styles wouldn't be of use to owners of prior models, maybe the method of how to go about it, might benefit them also.

The files are at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kn7000styles/files/Rikki%27s%20Styles/

best wishes
Rikki

If you had taken the trouble to read and understand what I wrote correctly you would see clearly it has nothing to do with members or anybody else exchanging their OWN music

Hi Guys,
point taken, the site is not for sharing commercial styles/pads. It's to try and help us create our own.

Thank you Jonny for the reminder. It should have been the first thing I should have posted on the site.

best wishes
Rikki

Thank you Chuck,
you're too kind. If you get stuck with anything to do with styles, don't hesitate to write in. That's what the group is for.

I ended up ordering Alec's KN6/65 manual also. I'm just waiting for it to arrive.
Apparently it has a great section on style creation. It probably would have saved me a lot of time in hit & miss experimentation ( haahaa) which I enjoy doing anyway,

best wishes
Rikki
