As a precaution, keep your SD card 'locked' when not in use or travelling.

When The 7000 first came out, I was told to never turn the machine on or off with the SD in the slot. There was a risk of deleting the info.

completely untrue advice!

the risk is switching off while the "write" light is still working for save (a pretty obvious stupid thing to do) and even then the data can be retrieved with the right software in the vast majority of cases.

it's easy to forget... the SD is fast compared to floppy but not so fast it works without power

Hi Audrey,

What do you mean by saying keep your SD card 'locked'?

Thanks,
Doron

the sd card has a switch on the side which prevents writing thus protecting the contents from unintentional deletion. This switch has no relevance when the power is off.
