Hi Joan
D'you reckon he means 'Estrellita'? which does appear as available on a sheet music web site....

Hi Len - thank you so very much for the sheet music - I will pass it on to my friend - he will be really very pleased. Joan

Roger - The request I had was for Estralita. I hadn't heard of it so I wouldn't have known whether it was spelt correctly or not. As it happens Len has sent Estrellita so I hope it is the one.

What a small world we live in these days. This was sent from across the "bigpond". Joan

Thanks Jack - I have passed both versions on - I will update you on which one - if either, was the one requested. Either way it is always very acceptable to receive a new (to you) piece of music.... Joan

Tut-tut - you forgot the year Joe - 1940.
Along with songs such as 'Sweet And Lovely' - 'Charmaine' - 'Granada', and many more. In the days when songs had melodies and lyrics. !!

Plus the amazing fact, that it was also in the 1936 film 'The Gay Desperado'. - Couldn't get away with that title today. !!!

Cheers - Colin.

In some of our states you could get away with it.........but not in our Congress.

Hi there - I have just heard from my fellow KN7 player who was seeking the music for Estralita. He sends his thanks to all and said that unfortunately neither of the two songs were the one he was after.

............................................

I am quoting him now
It appears he also refers to it as "Little Star" and thinks it dates back from the start of the 1939-1945 war.

"It was usally played as a Waltz, but could be persuaded into a foxtrot! The tune is not 10 miles away from "Charmaine" or in someways "Eternally" and when I try to play it I drift into one or the other as the old memory problem is getting to be a bind.

...........................................

from Joan - thank you once again and perhaps the above will "ring a bell" in someone's memory. Joan
