Has anybody had any luck running the old Yamaha softsynths on Windows XP? I thought I remembered somebody mentioning something about that in a post a great long time ago but I never found the thread again. If anybody has had any experience on the matter please let me in on it.

There is an XG update patch for the SyXG50, but nothing for the SyXG100. I dl'd the 50 update from Yamaha's XG site a while back if I remember correctly. The "50" resides on this XP machine and works fine.

You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you? I can never find anything on the Yamaha site(s).

I'm sorry but it was a while ago and off the top of my head I don't remember where or how I found it.

It appears that the original XG site is not working at the moment, while the Sondius site,( the syxg100 was a collaborative effort between Sondius and Yamaha), is gone completely.

I would suggest contacting Yamaha UK directly and inquiring. I'm sure they have the update patch for the SYxg50.

I don't know if the update is available there but have a look around and see. I know the trial versions for XP and 95 are there.

Thanks for the 411. I sent them an email message soem time ago explaining my situation, but if there email correspondence is anything like their myriad network of web sites, perhaps I'll get a message in a year or two.
