Can anyone tell me:-

1)whether the SanDisk Ultra II 'USB-ready' SD Card can be used with our keyboards?

2) Can they also be used with a Canon digital camera?

One of our local shops are offering these at a very 'special' price but before I make a purchase, I need to know for sure they will not harm my KN7000. The shop assistant wasn't too sure. I have been successfully using the normal SanDisk SD cards for awhile now and find they are more reliable than Panasonic.

Just bought one meself and it's brilliant - it does both registrations savings to the folders and audio work via SD Jukebox...

I understand that the Ultra II, however, is not worth the extra money, as the Kn7000 is USB I, and cannot utilise the speed of USB II.

Bernie - it is priced at £29.99 for 1GB and frankly although I've seen it in Dixons at £22.99 I feel it is still good value considering other retailers are still selling this size card at varying prices between £69 - £89.99. Even the latest 'A' catalogue shows a 'reduced' price of £69.00? However, I do take your point about the USBI card reader from Technics.

Roger - I thought it looked a little 'fatter' than the SD cards I already have and therefore wondered whether it would fit in the keyboard's SD slot. I don't want to damage what is a very delicate important part of the KN. Also I am a little concerned about the opening connecting part, it seems to be very flimsy.

I'd be interested in your comments on these points.

It fits perfectly into my KN7000 slot and I've just put the original 8mb SD Card alongside the 1 gig one and they exactly the same thickness. I can also confirm that the USB section doesn't feel in the least bit flimsy when you use it.

MultiMedia cards(MMC) are similar size to SD cards in two dimensions, but they are slightly thinner. Hence you may sense the difference. Mostly MMC cards can be substituted for SD cards (I'm not sure of the other way about though). Also though I have used both, at different times, on the one digital camera I've never tried this on the KN7000.

I seem to remember reading on this Forum some time ago, that MMC cards could be used to save and load normal Technics KN7000 files and MIDI files, but not Audio files.........
But, why bother? In most cases, SD Cards are now cheaper than MMC cards
