What a load of crud!

Anyone who has Real Audio files on their site is a complete shmuck who is totally out of touch with the internet scene!!!!

And here is why...

I've been trying to download the latest *allegedly* free Real player and the bastards are trying to force me into giving them my bank details before they'll be gracious enough to let me download their crumby little player. If you don't believe me just goto www.real.com.

So, the bottom line is... I can't listen to Real Audio files now, on the grounds that I'm not willing to give my bank details to some company that I have no intention of buying anything from.

It's an utter disgrace!!!

They've got a lot of nerve calling it free.

I just ignore them. If it's in real media, it's not for me. As long as people refuse to pay, they'll die out.

Has it changed in the past couple months? I got the free version without that trouble. Are you sure you're not getting the free trial version of the pay player? They are offering a free 14-day trial of the paid player.

Another one of those huh? TW/AOL has rubbed off on them obviously.

.ram is nothing special either. All it is, is a compression setting. You can get the codec these days and play it through another player. Just search for ram codec.

There just as bad as NetZero.
Free internet forever they boasted in order to become foundated.
Now established, Forever = 10 hours.
-teks advice is good. Give them nothing, darn parasites. Only thing real about them is that they are a total ripp off.

Well, Did you also notice that the "free" player expires and stops working. Then it gives you reminder every once a while that you need to download the latest one. Very annoying. I stopped installing it period.

and here's the latest punchline from the world of Real Rip Off...

I just went on the CNN.com site and now (all of a sudden), in order to watch their news video clips, you get hit with a whole bunch of pop-ups from Real Audio that (again!) try and force you into given them some money before you can watch the clips.

So, as far as I'm concerned, one of my all-time favourite websites, CNN.com, is no longer worth visiting cos it's been RUINED by Real Player!

I daren't even visit starwars.com for fear of what the bamsteads might have done there!
