Hi all,
Can somebody tell me why the amount of files required to store a single song on a floppy is so different? For instance, a song played straight piano has one file with the .SQT extension. Some played with rhythms have 2 file extensions, some with 3, and others with 4. Why such a big difference? A song with all 4 extensions would have .CMP, .PMT, .SQT, and .TM file names. Then I noticed on the disk that BEBOP sent out, those songs for the KN6000 have 6 file extensions per song. I am confusted to say the least. HELP!
Carol

Hi Sissle,

how many files are saved depends on which parts of the instrument are used in a song. If you only play melodietracks in the sequencer it would be enough to store only the SEQ-file. If the song is also using patterns which are in the composer you have to store SEQ and CMP. If you also use edited sounds out of the SOUND MEMORY area you also have to store TM and so on. Of course if you store everytime all parts you will be save that the song will sound correctly anyway but in this case the loading time will be longer as necessary. Hope this explanations will help you for a better understanding.

Hi Musician,

Thanks for the answer. That makes sense and is what I suspected. But, what does the KN6000 have that the KN5000 doesn't have that generates the two additional files?

more than 2, depending what you choose to save. mainly effect memory, also favourite and home page setting and single custom.
