Hi i have ordered a kn7000 and just wondered how long it took to do all the technical hard drive transfers and computer inputing and outputting etc, before you can actually playit? and if anyone has played it yet and been satisfied with anything at all before they had to change it.
apart from the new sounds and styles the advantage for people not interested in using a computer is the SD card. Once you have copied all your floppies, you'll never want to look at another floppy again.

The new KN7000 is a blast to play and the sound system alone is a vast improvement over the 6500. All one needs to do is play it and if you have ears (Good ones) you can hear the difference. It seems to me that lots of people enjoy "playing" with the controls, etc. instead of playing music. I find that this machine is playable right out of the box, hundreds of great accomp., rhythms, sounds. We really seem to take the simple and make it difficult. Some of the technical stuff that people talk about on the forum do more to turn people off than on. Try making it simple and you will enjoy the keyboard to it's fullest. If you want to tinker, do it but play first. Lloyd PS: Who needs more sounds when you have so many already? More is NOT better !
that is what i wanted to know if i can play it straight away and get good set ups from the presets straight away i can play for hours i can do the tech stuff, but first things first .have you tried the mic input at all(not the silly harmoniser thing) the 6500 was not bad at all with a little reverb.if i can play and my friend can sing straight away without messing about the machine is worth its money to me.After reading about all the bother people were having on the zone with the 7000 i was really having second thoughts thanks for the info jan

In my opinion - Best Yet! If you could sit down and play a KN6000 or KN6500 then you can do exactly the same with the KN7000. You will soon get used to the new positions of the controls.

yes alec ,but i have to pay for all the other buttons and techy things, as technics do not make a machine with the sound quality and style quality without all the gizmo's, yamaha do!

Your contribution to this forum has been enormus. Every one knows that . Your legion of fans can attest to that. Your knowledge is endless and I have to admit you are starting to sound human. Your know it all attitude is softening. I have to think that some of my remarks directed toward you have contributed to that fact . If it has then I have made a huge contribution to this forum.
I like the "new" Technics Player. Please keep the kindness in your answers.

The KN7000 is a fantastic instrument. There are many excellent sounds and rhythms you can enjoy 'out of the box'. The sound is awesome. But we all know that often you will want to tweak a sound or a rhythm to suit your own taste or suit a particular piece of music. This tweaking can be easy to do, and the results saved in panel memories. However, sometimes I comes across something more difficult that I want to do, and this is where this forum comes to my aid. Over the time I have had a KN6000 and now a KN7000, I have found the advice and input of Alec and others to be very helpful. I don't play professionally, but I have played at a number of music groups, and the response has always been encouraging. I consider that this is largely due to having an excellent instrument and having been advised on how to get the best out of it.
Mike A very happy KN7000 owner who just wishes he was retired so he could spend more time at the keyboard.
Let us continue in the human vein, Mr Green. Some time ago on another forum a question was asked. You gave an unsatisfactory partial answer, which did not really work, I gave a full answer which did. This obviously upset you so much that the rancour remains to this day. Why?
Could it be that you unfortunately made the fatal error of talking about some secret method you had to solve the problem which you could not possibly reveal publicly? When challenged to produce your repeatedly self trumpeted method, it turned out that none existed. Of course I knew straight away that all your talk of superior methods was pure fantasy, designed to fool other readers.
So it might seem a reasonable assumption that, lacking the intellectual skills to actually answer any questions, your only recourse now is one of personal innuendo to the person who exposed your embarrassing hypocrisy.
Of course one could also argue that to have nothing much to contribute except ascribing fictional personal innuendo to other people, shows a lack of emotional maturity that tries hard to compete with the lack of intellectual capability.
hey i wish i had never posted now i like this forum and if every question or query results in some form of argument i shall think twice before i post again. for goodness sake stop it or we will have no forum left. jan

I can't believe the bitterness and foolish bickering going on. You guys act like little kids. This forum was going good until it became vicious. I have posting lots of stuff on this site, hoping to somehow belong to a nice group of people but now I do not think I will post anything more. My purpose was to create interest and to promote new players but all I see here is arguments and nasty comments to each other. Sorry this has lead to this. Lloyd

Jan and Lloyd
I awoke this morning and read Mr Pagida angry post. Just when I thought he was mellowing he brings up old wounds. I was going to respond but I will respect both your wishes. Let his post speak for itself.

Hey... Nothing wrong with a heated discussion . Everything is not peaches and cream . Sometimes when people engage in in a discussion ,the volume may increase .Sometimes it happens in real life and sometimes in happens on message boards . It would be rather boring if we all agreed on everthing . The idea of this forum is to express an opinion . You may not agree with the opinion or even care for the person making the opinion , but we all have a right to express ouselves I have to admit ..I kinda like it
