I have a 3000. I want to play a song live, but the song needs a harmonizing track to make it complete. I do NOT want to use a harmonizer...it just doesnt sound real. How might I be able to do this live...?

do you mean you want to sing with a microphone? or just use technichord on the sampled voices?

sing with a mic. I usually record all my music via cakewalk, then record as many voices I need via cakewalk and then dump the whole thing onto mini-disc. When I play the gig, I usually mute out the piano and sing the melody live. IT works really well with MD.

still a little confused... if you are singing the only way is to use a harmoniser surely?

How about this for an idea - record the melody with a suitable technichord on part 4. This technichord can be assigned one of the vocal samples. Then play back with the melody muted and sing the melody into the mic with a harmonised backing from the keyboard.

You can still play live in exactly the same way just by muting the melody voice on right 1, but playing a silent melody in order to generate the harmony on part 4 while you sing into the mic.

I can't remember the exact technichord orchestrator on the 3000 and suspect you cannot use part 4, this will have been introduced later. Maybe it is possible using R1 and R2 if the technichord harmony appears on one and you mute the other. You will have to try with both conductors on and see where the harmony voice appears, then mute the other lead voice in the mixer.

There is NO shortcut unless you use a harmonizer. You already said that you multitrack with cakewalk, right? Just multitrack the voices. Cakewalk does audio also.

surely it is possible to do without a harmoniser, just record the technichord harmony based on the same melody line you will eventually sing.
