I'm trying to make an intelligent decision on the purchase of my first portable keyboard. Am currently looking at the Technics KN2600 and Yamaha PSR2100 and would like some pro input.
I'm trying to stay in the under $2k market and would like the most respected instrument in that class (hoping there is one).
From what I have researched, the Technics is the better keyboard, but Yamaha is a better name in the music industry.
I've seen some really nice support sites for the Yamaha and am currently leaning in that direction.
If there is a lot of newbie dumbness in this query I'd like to know that too.

one option, I would wait till July and have a look at the psr3000 first. If you must buy now listen to both. Each has strengths in different areas, Technics can play audio with SD card and writing kit, Yamaha has a harmoniser built in. This is the last Technics keyboard so for future upgrading Yamaha might be better for saving your work. You can however download a free styles library for the 2600 from www.technicskn7000.com .
