Ahh now I understand. Ogre must be talking about that infamous chord recognition problem of which I and others had much to say many moons ago. It was corrected at or about update 4 as I recall. Chord recognition was always an inaccurate description of the problem anyway. It was more of a delay as described by Ogre. I suppose a delay in recognising the chord is another way to describe it.
By the way Ogre it took a lot of complaints before Technics actually acknowledged the problem and did something about it. Initially they refused to acknowledge any problem whatsoever which led to many angry responses from customers on these forums and elsewhere.
Anyway I'm surprised that you still have a problem if you've updated the operating system.

Thanks Folks,

I put it down to one of life's little mysteries - in practice it's not too much of a problem especially if I remember to play an inversion of E flat.... I do however expect perrrrrrrrfection from the KN7000......

I was another of the original complainers! As I remember it, Technics never actually acknowledged a problem, but it 'mysteriously' disappeared with the V4 upgrade. Until that point I was all ready to go to my dealer and get my traded in KN5000 back, as my 6000 was basically unplayable with my style of playing. Others on the forums said that they had no problems (and some called us paranoid etc. as I remember!), but it was basically down to how you used the machine. I've still never been quite convinced to this day that chords are recognised as quickly as they were on the KN5000 though.

Richard.

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately not at the moment - my wedding later this year will eat up any cash that otherwise might have bought a 7000! I'll be very interested to see how the early buyers will get on though.

Richard.
